Planning Your Trip
Our student field trip programs are offered for grades K-12. At least one full week advance notice prior to the desired date and time of your group’s visit is required. We will try our best to schedule a date and time most convenient for you. Keep in mind that tours are offered Monday through Friday with start times from 9:30am-3:30pm CT.
To schedule, please fill out our program request form. Once staff have received the form, they will contact you to confirm the date and time for your program via e-mail. Staff will also provide additional program information and a total fee with payment options.
Fees
Fees for our student field trip programs help support FPAN’s educational programming and historic preservation efforts statewide. Fees can be paid online with a credit/debt card or with a check sent via mail or presented the day of the field trip program.

- Chaperones: $5.00
- Teachers: 0-30 participants includes two teachers at no cost; 31-60 participants includes four teachers at no cost
- Bus drivers: Free
Tour Length
Our student field trip programs last approximately 1.5 hours. Each program includes three components: an “Introduction to Archaeology!” presentation in our classroom, an opportunity to get hands-on with archaeological artifacts in our Public Archaeology Lab, and a guided tour of our Destination Archaeology Resource Center museum exhibits.
Capacity
Groups of at least 10 qualify for an student field trip program. Due to space limitations, groups cannot exceed 60 individuals per visit.
If your group exceeds 60 people, we can schedule your group for more than one visit on different days.
If your group has less than 10 individuals, you are welcome to visit the Destination Archaeology Resource Center museum exhibits during normal operating hours free of charge at your leisure.
